Dans Paysages Polaires, Cantique Lépreux reste fidèle à leur style à quelques exceptions près, à savoir un black metal atmosphérique glacial dont la vitesse est assez intense. En fait, cet album sert à polir, sublimer leur style. La production baisse un peu le volume de la guitare, met plus en avant le chant et la batterie — et elle est géniale : écoutez "Les étoiles endeuillées" et "Hélas...". La saga poétique des "Paysages Polaires" permet de voir le groupe sous un jour plus émotif. Puissant !
